"Truthiness" Voted 2005 Word of the Year
In its 16th annual words of the year vote, the American Dialect Society voted "truthiness" as the word of the year. Recently popularized on the Colbert Report,... "truthiness" refers to the quality of preferring concepts or facts one wishes to be true, rather than concepts or facts known to be true.(See "Truthiness Voted 2005 Word of the Year" and "truthiness" in Wikipedia.)
As Stephen Colbert says, "I'm not a fan of facts. You see, facts can change, but my opinion will never change, no matter what the facts are."
So what's the word for "manufacturing 'facts' to create an outcome that corresponds with an avowed set of beliefs"?

I like "manu-fact", but would prefer spelling it "manufact" without the hyphen. Though perhaps we should say "manifact", as in "manipulated fact". E.g., "the Presdient believed in manifact destiny."
Okay, here 'tis, Packy: "A Dictionary of Facts".
manifact
manufact
neofact
Can you thnk of any more?
How about "ficfact"? A fickle fact; a fact that changes according to whim.
Or "nanofact"? A fact of little importance.
