QUERY : Since Hy-Vee will deduct five cents for every bag I bring that they use to bag my groceries, why do not other grocery stores offer the same option ?
Shouldn't consumer have a choice ?
QUERY : Has Tim Walz commented on H.R 1686 : Trash Reduction Act of 2013 ? As a consumer who must shop in DC for some items, Congressman Walz must have seen this in action. In 2009, the District of Columbia enacted a law to ban the distribution of disposable, non-recyclable plastic carry-out bags and set a fee of 5 cents for distribution of all other disposable bags. {Read
Representative Jim Moran's floor statement introducing the legislation.}
Where is a Senate companion bill and where are Senators Klobuchar and Franken on this issue ?
Plenty of other governmental units, from cities to states, have considered such legislation ... what about Minnesota ?
