Bill Maher: Ronald Reagan wrote GOP playbook

Bill Maher ripped former President Ronald Reagan on his show Friday night, saying the Republican icon would “fit in just fine” with the right-wing of today’s GOP.
“This has become conventional wisdom, that the Republican Party has gone so far right Reagan himself wouldn’t fit in. But I’m here tonight to call bull**** on that,” he said on his HBO show “Real Time with Bill Maher.”
“Ronald Reagan was an anti-government, union busting, race baiting, anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-intellectual who cut rich people’s taxes in half, had an incurable taste for the military industrial complex and said Medicare was socialism that would destroy our freedom.”
Maher said Reagan “wrote the playbook” on everything the Republican party does today.
