Get real on Afghanistan

The selection of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point for President Obama's announcement of his new Afghanistan war strategy is media manipulation worthy of Michael Deaver, the legendary image protector of Ronald Reagan. What better setting than an audience of military cadets to project Obama as the reluctant warrior and commander in chief who, because of circumstances not of his making, is forced to commit the nation's finest to a war not of his choosing?
Makes for a great visual, too.
It's also a good way for Obama to get his war message across to national security think-tankers who have been banging their spoons for escalation, to Republicans who demand that he give the generals what they want, and to conservatives who say he is a ditherer, not a doer.
Tuesday night's event should go down well with the cadets. But what about the millions of Americans across the country who will be tuned in?

another 'blame bush' piece from another media 'inheriter'. You will recall my definition of 'inheriter' from a previous post which is someone who blames everything for the current state of affairs on George W Bush while eschewing Barack Obama and Joe Biden of any responsibility whatsoever even though Obama served in the Senate for four years prior to him becoming president and Biden for serving 38 years in the Senate before becoming vice-president. Yes, Obama and Biden act as if they arrived from another galaxy and have no culpability whatsoever despite having been the executives for a full year now.
I can safely speak for most Americans that we are tired of the 'inheriters' in the media who simply blame George Bush for Obama/Biden incompetence and the abrogation of responsibility by Obama/Biden with their 'we're cleaning up the mess' arrogance.
You read it here first - Obama/Biden will be a one-term administration. They are imcompetent beyond rational measure and Afghanistan, the shadow cabinet Czar-dom, and the bungling of every domestic policy that have tried to take on.
