Jimmy Carter: Wilson's Outburst 'Based On Racism' (VIDEO)
HuffPost
ATLANTA (AP) -- Former President Jimmy Carter said Tuesday that U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson's outburst to President Barack Obama during a speech to Congress last week was an act "based on racism" and rooted in fears of a black president.
"I think it's based on racism," Carter said at a town hall held at his presidential center in Atlanta. "There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president."
The Georgia Democrat said the outburst was a part of a disturbing trend directed at the president that has included demonstrators equating Obama to Nazi leaders.
"Those kind of things are not just casual outcomes of a sincere debate on whether we should have a national program on health care," he said. "It's deeper than that."

Poor Jimmy. Still trying to make amends for the worst presidency in the history of the US now playing that old lliberal standard - the race card.
Why does the left see racism in everything when just a few short years ago, dissent was 'patriotic' and wearing a 'fuck bush' shirt earned high praise from the liberal elites.
Personally, I couldn't care less if Obama is black, white, red, brown, purple, chartreuse or any combination of colors. The man is, was and always will be an ardent socialist. I will disagree with any socialist nearly 100% of the time. I disagreed with Bush's socialism-light conveniently called 'compassionate conservatism' and I wholeheartedly disagree with Obama's outright Mussolini-style socialism.
There is not one person who voted for Obama who was in favor of destroying America as we know it in favor of Obama's grand socialist experiment. They voted for him because of their opposition to the Iraq war and that it was cool to vote for a black man for president. I didn't vote for him because I knew the man is a dyed-in-the-wool, hard-core, socialist, not because he was black. But I was proud that a man of his background could rise to the presidency which shows that, in America, anything is still possible.
But, now the left just can't stand dissent and sees recism in everything which makes it impossible to have an intelligent and honest debate on the merits of the policies without just pulling out that old standard - the race card - when dissent is nothing more than disagreeing with destroying this country and the little freedom we have left and ceding to the government the very freedoms it is their duty to protect?
Poor Jimmy. The man is completely around the bend.
