Political theater: Michele Bachmann, comedienne

"We’re running out of rich people in this country." — Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.)

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann has been entertaining us again. Her latest foot-in-mouth foray has been covered by blogs and media across the country — including on Keith Olbermann's Countdown — but this one from the South St. Paul Examiner perhaps best sums it up.

Kudos should be given to the persistent Dump Bachmann blog, which has been forefront in exposing the congresswoman's antics since (I believe) 2004 and which first exposed her latest faux pas.

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann(R), my neighbor from Stillwater, is a constant source of amazement and joy for anyone enjoying the bizarre.

Her district lies adjacent to South St. Paul, somewhere just the other side of Pluto. Her response to the Stimulus Bill is breathtaking in it's stupidity and hilarity. It takes a lot to get a mention on Keith Olbermann's Countdown Show and to get an entire segment devoted to you is... sublime. You can't make this bullpuckey up.
