Whiney Wingnut on 'Liberal Media Bias'

Media Credibility

By DOUGLAS MACKINNON
NYT

(Douglas MacKinnon was a press secretary to former Senator Bob Dole.)

After the presidential election is over and the dust, animosity, glee and shock settle into something manageable, the nation will need to tackle the subject of “media bias” in a sincere and honest manner.

As an “independent conservative,” I’m expected to see liberal media bias lurking everywhere, but it’s not just me — and it’s not just conservatives. I know liberals, including newspaper editors, who think the “news” pendulum had swung dangerously far to the left.

Beyond recent studies by the Pew Research Center and the Project for Excellence in Journalism, other research shows that the media has tilted to the left; indeed journalists themselves have openly admitted as much.

Continued here.

Here's my reaction:

Another conservative whining about the liberal media...

Does he mean Fox News, The Washington Times, The New York Post or the Wall Street Journal?

Is he talking about Rush Limbaugh, Thomas Sowell or Ann Coulter? What about Rich Lowry, Bill O’Reilly, William Safire, Robert Novak and George Will?

How about John Gibson, Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingraham and David Brooks?

Maybe he means Tony Blankely, Fred Barnes, Britt Hume and Larry Kudlow.

Or is he referring to Sean Hannity, David Horowitz, William Kristol and Hugh Hewitt?

How about Oliver North, Joe Scarborough, Pat Buchanan and John McLaughlin?

Or Cal Thomas, Michael Savage, Grover Norquist and Tucker Carlson?

Should we include Deroy Murdock, Charles Krauthammer, Stephen Moore and Alan Keyes?

What about Gary Bauer, Mort Kondracke, G. Gordon Liddy and Neil Cavuto?

Should we count Matt Drudge, Mike Rosen, Dave Kopel and John Caldara?

Yeah, maybe we should confront media bias...by restoring equal time in the media.

I believe he was refering to CBS, NBC, ABC, NPS, APR and most large newspapers. I believe it worse than when we heard, "Nixon? I don't know anyone who voted for Nixon!"

Republicans lost this election because they lost their way and deserve to lose. Conservative ideas have a place and will rise to the top, perhaps only (unfortunately) after our country reaches bottom.
