2 polls give McCain little good news

Published: Nov. 1, 2008

WASHINGTON, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- There is little good news for Republican nominee John McCain in two polls released Saturday, three days before the U.S. presidential election.

Both the ABC News/Washington Post (NYSE:WPO) tracking poll and the CBS News/New York Times poll show McCain trailing his Democratic rival, Barack Obama. Both polls also find that the 20 percent to 25 percent of voters who have already cast their ballots tilt towards Obama.

The ABC/Post poll suggests McCain has few places to find votes. Only 7 percent of those who have not voted said they are undecided or might change their minds.

The survey found that McCain's hammering at Obama as a liberal has done little to change minds. The percentage of voters who believe the Democrat is too liberal has not changed for weeks.
