Analysis: Could Clinton land the VP nomination?

(CNN) -- Friends and close associates of both Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are now convinced that, assuming she loses the race for the presidential nomination, she is probably going to fight to be the vice presidential nominee on an Obama-for-president ticket.
Clinton "is trying to figure out how to land the plane without looking like surrender," a prominent figure in the Obama camp said Friday. This means, in all likelihood, bringing her campaign to a close in the next few weeks and trying to leverage her way onto an Obama ticket from a position of maximum strength, said several knowledgeable sources.
A person close to her, with whom her campaign staff has counseled at various points, said this week, "I think the following will happen: Obama will be in a position where the party declares him the nominee by the first week in June. She'll still be fighting with everybody -- the Rules Committee, the party leaders -- and arguing, 'I'm winning these key states; I've got almost half the delegates. I have a whole constituency he hasn't reached. I've got real differences on approach to how we win this election, and I'm going to press the hell out of this guy. ... Relief for the middle class, universal health care, etc.; I'm Ms. Blue Collar, and I'm going to press my fight, because he can't win without my being on the ticket.' "
Another major Democratic Party figure, who supports her for president, agreed: "It's not going to be a quiet exit. ... Obama has got a terrible situation. He marches to a different drummer. He won't want to take her on the ticket. But he might have to, even though the idea of Vice President Hillary with Bill in the background at the White House is not something -- especially after what [the Clintons] have thrown at him that he relishes. I believe she'll go for it."

Obama will losse the General election. The national polls show Hillary favors the General election win at a far greater margin than Obama. Obama is soft on national security with very, vey little experience! He would be tested by the Islamo-Fundamentalists in short order. Let us not forget how he alienated many Jewish Americans with his soft stance with Hamas. Hillary needs to be fairly heard by Michigan and Florida and at the end of the day she needs to be on the ticket if the Democrats have a chance at winning the General election. I hope her ego is grounded enough to take on a VP spot to Obama. With her experience, intellect, and contacts, along with Obama's supposed "change message" in the platitudes of his verbose smoothness, we may have a real change to take back this country from the corrupt Republican base. I hope Obama, has the secure egeo he needs to be a team player withHillary as well. I feel his wife runs this matter more so than the public really views!

I consider myself and many in this country like me to be the group that usually decides who will win the Presidency.. I am an Independent and thought I would probably be voting for McCain because Hillary seemed assured the nomination. I have since changed my mind and will be voting for Obama I think he brings to the table the answers to the most important issues right now. And values do matter, which clinton has none. She lies and decieves the american public..most of what she says has some truth to it but its always twisted to make it sound really good when Its just not...Like the gas tax issue, someone tell me how she is going to get the senate and the president to vote for charging oil companys to make up the lost money HAHA... Anyway my opinion of her is that she is a fraud and if she is even on the ticket with Obama he will lose the voters who will decide this election. Lets face it McCain and Obama can get moderate vote Clinton cant and moderate independent vote is what makes up a country that is split almost 50/50. Republicans will vote republican and democrats will vote democratic (even the working class white, McCain will not help them)so that leaves the independents, and obama has a much better chance without clinton to snag some of that all important middle section. This group of voters has always liked the democratic stances on economics and such but dislikes the lack of values that democrats posses. And Clinton is number one in lack of values she is cutthroat and in my opinion has less values then John Kerry. With her on a ticket the election will go to McCain. CNN always underestimates the Values factor (thats what gave Bush his second term and the exit polls four years ago back that statement) So I hope Obama understands loud and clear DO NOT give into Hillary and DO NOT put her on your ticket it will be a HUGE mistake.
Oh lets hope not we dont need any more Clintons and Bushes.
NO VOTE if Clinton is on the Obama ticket.
Better not be paying her debt with Obama funds after all we gave for Obama NOT Hillary .
Hillary is mean and would do anything and I mean anything it takes to win .
Obama would need a food taster with Hillary or Bill present.
NO HILLARY on OBAMA TICKET
Obama you have been nice tooooo long to Hillary .
We are now looking at the new test if Obama is really a change agent and not just a politician.
If he accepts Clinton as a VP:
He is a regular politician as he wants to be President more than he wants change.
If he pays Clinton's bills:
He is a regular politician who is willing to spend his supporters money to pay off Clinton to obtain the nomination.
If he really is a change agent with new politics:
He will not allow Clinton to be his VP.
He will not pay her bills and violate his supporters hard paid support as a result.
He will select a VP that supports his change ticket. It is OK if he selects someone that helps politically. However, a shill like PA Rendell will be like McCain slecting Jeb Bush.
PLEASE - no more Clintons...let's move this nation into the 21st century.
Never in a million years should Obama choose Hellary. Every decision he makes will be attributed to her and he would become exactly what Maureen Dowd describes in her May 11 column in the New York Times column "Is She a Trojan Rabbit"
" Obama will never be at his best around Hillary; she drains him of his magical powers. She’s Jane Jinx to him. It’s a similar syndrome to the one Katharine Hepburn’s star athlete and her supercilious fiancé have in “Pat and Mike.”
The fiancé is always belittling Hepburn, so whenever he’s in the stands, her tennis and golf go kerflooey. Finally, her manager, played by Spencer Tracy, asks the fiancé to stay away from big matches, explaining, “You are the wrong jockey for this chick.”
“You know, except when you’re around, we got a very valuable piece of property here,” he says, later adding, “When you’re around, she’s no good, she’s dead, see?”
The best way Obama can punish Hillary is to reward himself. He’s no good around her, see? "
No Obama. choose Bloomberg, Wesley Clark, never Hellary.
