To Surge or Not to Surge, That Is the Question

Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of an outrageous Congress,
Or to send more troops into a sea of troubles, and by escalating the war, end it?

On the eve of Mr. Bush's next "Mission Not Accomplished" speech, Coleen Rowley calls to task Rep. John Kline for waffling on the "troop surge" issue:
Our slick 2nd District Congressman John Kline had a hard time last week in answering Minnesota Public Radio’s survey of all ten members of the Minnesota congressional delegation as to their views about President Bush’s anticipated call for a surge of troops in Iraq. Opinions about what should be done about the mess in Iraq varied among nine of the ten Minnesota representatives and senators queried.... The only really surprising thing in the series of MPR interviews with the Minnesota Congresspersons was that, after repeated attempts to get 2nd CD Congressman John Kline (retired Marine Colonel who sits on the Armed Services Committee John Kline) to talk with them, he refused, with a staffer’s lame response that Kline “will sit this one out for no particular reason.”
Read the entire commentary below. (P.S. According to the Strib, Kline since has come out in favor of the surge.)

By the way, wasn't "Surge" a hypercaffeinated soft drink that fizzled?
