Ann Coulter’s Peroxide Neo-Fascism

In 1927, for better or for worse, Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes allowed for mandatory sterilization in the Supreme Court case Buck v. Bell: “three generations of imbeciles are enough.”

If Ann Coulter ever reaches the bench, this will read:

“Three generations of liberals are enough.”

Forget Coulter’s calculated rants against the widows of 9/11, and forget her diatribes against “the Church of Liberalism.” After all, Coulter is just one of many pundits quick to condemn all things “conservative” or, in her case, all things “liberal” (which must include wheelchair ramps and ending child labor).

It’s astonishing, by the way, that Ann Coulter thinks she is a conservative when she rejects the entire menu of conservative principles: limited government; checks and balances; prudent use of force; and modernism with ethics. Coulter’s betrayal of true conservatism, as elaborated by Abraham Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight D. Eisenhower, is total.

What makes Ann Coulter dangerous, especially if her ideas find purchase in our new United States of Amnesia, is the following very un-conservative idea: blaming liberalism on a mental disorder: “… and Godless is about the underlying mental disease that creates liberalism.”[1]

It continues: “In the history of the nation, there has never been a political party so ridiculous as today's Democrats. It's as if all the brain-damaged people in America got together and formed a voting bloc.”[2]

And try this one by Ann: “When contemplating college liberals, you really regret once again that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors."[3]

In the 1930s, Nazi doctors diagnosed communists, homosexuals, Jews, gypsies and other people as inferior, even as biological “defectives.” The linking of culture or politics and disease opened the door to the classification, detention and even extermination of entire groups of people.
