With no progress being made in negotiations and increasing friction between parties the Rochester Coalition brings their fight against the DM&E project to the nation's capitol. In one day, with back-to-back meetings the coalition met with 9 Minnesota lawmakers.
They are turning their efforts at protecting Rochester to elected officials in Washington DC.
But the coalition is also aiming to protect taxpayers saying the 2.5 billion dollar loan that DM&E is seeking could fall into their lap if the railroad can't pay it off.
