Voters don't trust our electoral system.... So this is news?
Just three days after warning that Americans are increasingly distrustful of their election system, the Vice Chair of the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, Ray Martinez, has resigned. On April 8, speaking before an audience at Princeton University at a colloquium on election reform legislation, he stated:

On April 8, speaking before an audience at Princeton University at a colloquium on election reform legislation, he stated:
One of the most alarming trends in our country is the continual erosion of voter confidence in the accuracy of our tabulated results. The 2000 presidential election has adversely affected the opinion of the average American on our electoral process.He said he was stepping down because of family reasons.
Since then, voter confidence has continued to trend in the wrong direction and it's unlikely to fade any time soon.
