Foreign Policy: 'conservative response comical in its fury'

This time, Fareed Zakaria was being interviewed for a change. Normally, he is the one asking the questions on his new and provocative show on CNN called GPS.
Not to say that I agree with absolutely everything Zakaria has said, but for the most part, he seems to be the only TV personality to ask relevant questions, and to seek the answers from people who have expertise on the matter.
Today he was asked by CNN about his assessment of the initial period of Obama's tenure as President.
Zakaria, while not giving the administration an A+, is saying he is very impressed with what has been happening thus far. A lot of weight has been given to foreign policy and the amount of ground covered in a mere two months in office is noteworthy. First and foremost are the initiatives Obama has taken to improve US image around the world, especially with the Arab world. He cited the announcement of the Guantanamo Bay prison closing, the 'no torture' issue (though this is debatable, since Obama is continuing some practices put in place by Bush till further notice), and the appointment of a secretary of state that was able to hit the ground running. Some may think that in certain situations, she ran in the wrong direction, but overall, she got very high marks from Zakaria.

Fareed, your kneepads are wearing out; time to get a new pair. Just look at how the Russians have come to the table. None of the funds to Gaza will reach Hamas. North Korea is doing as they will. The Taliban have increased their area of control. And, we have no more enemy combatants. Ahh, the expertise of the BHO diplomacy. Let the Maoists, Leninists and Marxists rule; everyone will love us again.
